Zayn Malik, an English singer born to a Pakistani-British parents, was forced to assure fans he had not cheated on his fiancé Perrie Edwards of Little Mix, having been spotted getting close with 'Essex girl' Lauren Richardson while on a night out in Phuket, Thailand.
Zayn who attained fame after becoming a member of British/Irish boy band One Direction, said, 'I'm sorry for what it looks like...I love Perrie!' referring to fiancee Perrie Edwards, the Little Mix singer, after the imagery stirred emotions deep.
Following the rumours, Malik also left the band’s “On the Road Again” world tour, according to the Daily Mail and the Mirror. “
Zayn has been signed off with stress and is flying back to the UK to recuperate,” a spokesperson told the Mirror. “The band wish him well and will continue with their performances in Manila and Jakarta.”
After being snapped with his arm around a young woman at Seduction nightclub in Phuket, Thailand, the 22-year-old took to the Twitter to proclaim his love for Perrie, 21.
Zayn wrote: 'I'm 22 years old... I love a girl named Perrie Edwards…I'm sorry for what it looks like x.'
What fueled the controversy further was when Lauren, who appeared to be a fan of the singing star at first, was snapped again with Zayn outside the club.
When contacted by the media, the reps for Zayn and his fiancee declined to comment. Lauren, who was first identified by the website Hollywood Life, was dressed in a short black and white skirt and off-the-shoulder black top for her night out. It is assumed the pair were in the club to watch a DJ set by British star Example.
But the most shocked were the fans who quickly went into a meltdown as the photographs of Zayn and Lauren spread on social media.

Another another added: 'listen here @zaynmalik if ur cheating on perrie I'll beat u up and join one direction.'
Others weighed in, with one person saying: 'if @zaynmalik is cheating on perrie oh well. that's what he wants to do. don't hate appreciate..'
However, others were quick to defend him, with one follower pointing out: 'But if Zayn was "cheating" why would he bring her outside for everyone to see? So he probably isn't cheating I trust him @zaynmalik.'
And one more added: 'I sincerely hope you aren't cheating on Perrie, unless you guys broke up.'
It is interesting to mentioned that this isn't the first time Zayn and Perrie have been rocked by cheating rumors. In February 2013, before they got engaged, it was claimed that Zayn cheated with £500-a-night stripper Courtney Webb after a night of partying.
Following the revelations Perrie and Zayn refused to comment, while blonde Coutney received death threats from 1D fans after her number was put on Twitter by Leon Anderson - the friend who reportedly invited her back to Zayn’s house to party.
Despite this, Zayn proposed and Perrie accepted in August of that year. The Little Mix singer flashed her diamond ring at the world premiere of One Direction's movie This Is Us in London and her excited mother confirmed the news.

The young couple originally started dating in December 2011 after meeting on set of The X Factor, where Perrie was a finalist with Little Mix. Although their first attempt at a relationship ended after a few weeks, the couple started dating officially in April 2012.
