Army chief meets UK chief of general staff

ISPR says matters of mutual interest, including regional security situation, were discussed during meeting

Army chief General Raheel Sharif met United Kingdom Chief of General Staff General Nicholas Carter on Thursday.

“During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, including regional security situation and measures to further enhance defence cooperation between both the countries were discussed,” according to Inter Services Public Relations.

The chief of general staff was also given a detailed briefing on the operational and training aspects of Pakistan Army.

On arrival at General Headquarters, a smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Army presented Guard of Honour to the dignitary.

General Sir Nicholas Patrick Carter also laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada.

General John F Campbell calls on COAS 

General John F Campbell, commander of the Resolute Support Mission and United States Forces in Afghanistan, called on General Sharif on Thursday.

According to ISPR, during the meeting matters of mutual interest and regional security with particular emphasis on coordination along Pak-Afghan border were discussed.

The visit is part of the regular exchanges between the foreign forces stationed in neighbouring Afghanistan and Pakistani military authorities.
