NADRA asked to identify 250 suspects

The Investigations SSP said 20 suspects had been identified and the police were conducting raids to arrest them.

Police on Wednesday sent the National Database and Registration Authority pictures of 250 people who the police suspect turned “violent” after attacks on churches in Youhanabad on Sunday. NADRA has been asked for the addresses of the suspects.


The Investigations SSP said 20 suspects had been identified and the police were conducting raids to arrest them. Two cases have also been registered against the mob that lynched two men. Another policeman said the mob lynched the men in front of the policemen deployed in the area. He said they were considering initiating departmental action against them.

The investigation of the attacks will be held by a joint investigation team as the case had been registered under the Protection of Pakistan Act. Three companies of Rangers, around 800 policemen were deployed in Youhanabad on Wednesday. Separately, wall chalking allegedly by Daesh (Islamic State) appeared on the walls of a church in Mustafabad area. Christian residents of the area called the police. They removed the wall chalking and registered a case.
