MUMBAI: One of the indomitable clouts of Bollywood’s Khan trio —  Aamir Khan has spent over 25 years in the Hindi film industry, giving action-packed, comedy, romantic and emotional performances; scoring hits and becoming a successful filmmaker. But the actor, who’s turning 50 on Saturday, won’t like to say that he’s reached the peak of his career yet.

At an event, the PK star was asked if he feels that he has reached the pinnacle of his career. He said, “I’m still 18-years-old. I don’t feel that I have reached the peak of my career. According to me, ‘peak’ means you are about to go downwards, so I hope I am not at the peak of my career.”

Aamir is the first of the lot to be turning 50, but he’s an unstoppable force, who brings something new and clutter-breaking to the table.

He may have lost his cute college-boy looks he had in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin, but if Aamir stands out even today, it’s for his ability to tell ‘educating’ tales. He raised the social conscience with films like Rang De Basanti on corruption; Taare Zameen Par on dyslexia; 3 Idiots on the education system; and he took a swipe at organised religion and god men with PK, as well as his TV show Satyamev Jayate.

Aamir Khan said he is not aware of his birthday plans as his wife Kiran Rao is making all the arrangements. “I am not aware of my birthday plans, only Kiran knows as she is planning for it. She has made all the arrangements,” Aamir told reporters on Wednesday at the DVD launch of his film PK. “She has called family and few friends. I don’t even know who she has called,” he added.

The actor, who’s often known as a ‘perfectionist’, is prepping up for his role in Dangal. He is busy learning how to wrestle and how to speak Haryanvi for his role inspired by the wrestler Mahavir Phogat.

Just as passionately he built an eight-pack for Ghajini, he is now beefing up to play this role. “This preparation will continue for some months. Then we will start shooting for the film,” Aamir told reporters at the launch.

“We have not locked the date yet. Casting is being done,” added the 49-year-old, who now weighs 90 kg. So what if it’s one film a year, the ‘perfectionist’ still manages to create ‘dhoom’.
