Human trafficking: Bid to smuggle Afghan children foiled

A case has been registered against them accordingly and further investigation is in progress.

HAFIZABAD: The city police along with railway police foiled a bid to smuggle 15 Afghan children. According to police, Hayatullah, an Afghan national living in Mansehra district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa was taking 15 Afghan children aged between 12 to 15 years from Rohri to Rawalpindi by Pakistan Express when they got off from the train at Hafizabad railway station and ran towards the bus stand. On suspicion, the railway police along with city police chased them and took them into custody near general bus stand. During interrogation, Hayatullah told the police that he had brought these children from Haripur and he wanted to smuggle these children to European countries. A case has been registered against them accordingly and further investigation is in progress.
