Two separate road accidents in Badin and Hyderabad on Friday claimed six lives, including those of four women travelling in a wedding party vehicle.


Around 24 people, including 15 women and three children, were injured altogether.

Two Suzuki pick-up vans carrying around two dozen passengers overturned near the Peeru Lashari village, about 12 kilometres from Badin on the Hyderabad-Badin Road. According to Civil Hospital, Badin, civil surgeon Dr Muhammad Musa Memon, four Panehar women, identified as 35-year-old Lateefa, 32-year-old Amnat, 26-year-old Bakhtawar and 23-year-old Jannat, died in the accident.

As many as 15 women and three children suffered injuries and bone fractures. The victims belonged to the Ghulam Hussain Parehar village.

In another accident on the National Highway in Hyderabad, two men identified as Maula Bux and Muhammad Nawaz died after a speeding van hit the rickshaw they were travelling in. The deceased were residents of GOR Colony. Six others were injured in the accident.
