Motivating farmers: Govt focusing on minimising cost

Govt determined to create a conducive environment for agriculture related businesses and industries, says minister

KARACHI: Federal Minister for National Food & Security Sikandar Hayat Khan Bosan has said that the government is focusing on measures that would minimise the cost of production in order to motivate farmers. According to Bosan, the unprecedented reduction in the price of diesel, enhanced support price for wheat, slapping of duty on import of wheat to protect local farmers and provision of fertilisers at a uniform rate throughout the country are some of the new initiatives taken in the agricultural sector. He said the government is determined to create a conducive environment for agriculture related businesses and industries.
