Attackers leave pamphlets warning law enforcers against raids, encounters of 'mujahideen'

KARACHI: A man was killed and at least four others were injured when unidentified men opened fire at two stores in Bahadurabad area of Karachi on Wednesday evening in an apparent reprisal attack against the on-going security operation in the city.

Khan Muhammad, who worked at a samosa shop was killed while Hatim and Bashir suffered injuries when four men riding on two motorcycles opened fire.

The armed men then made their way to Burhani Snacks, where they again opened fire, injuring Mustansar Abbas and Shabbir.

The assailants also threw some pamphlets at the stores which attacked which warned of attacks against law enforcers as revenge for the deaths of their comrades.

The dead and the injured were shifted to Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Centre.

DSP Khalid Khan, while confirming the incident, said that they were investigating the attacks and the letters. He added that they were collecting evidence from the two crime scenes and had recovered the empty shells of the bullets fired by the assailants.
