QUETTA:

Secretary Health Balochistan Noorul Haq Baloch has said his department is going to restructure the anti-polio campaigns by involving more local elected members at the union council level across Balochistan.

He was presiding over a high-level meeting to review the anti-polio campaigns in the impoverished province. The provincial officials of donor agencies Unicef, WHO and COMNet attended the meeting and thoroughly discussed the strategy. The second phase of anti-polio drive was postponed due to the unavailability of police guards in Quetta. Noorul Haq said it would improve the quality of the campaign and also address the security issue. “The security has been an issue but it needs to be addressed,” the health secretary said.
