KARAK: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Karak MNA Dina Naz Khattak gathered hundreds of women of the party to negotiate with protesting locals of Karak on Sunday.

The sit-in which entered its 13th day is over power and gas cuts and the delayed construction of Khushal Khan Khattak University.

“Although Rs10 billion in royalties has been spent on Karak, the district remains in a dilapidated condition,” said Naz. She added instead of giving money in the form of development funds, the government should plan megaprojects in the area.

Naz also lashed out at PTI Karak lawmakers, saying such issues would not have surfaced had the lawmakers been serious about the problems faced by locals. “People have started detesting the party, Imran Khan and Pervez Khattak because of the poor performance of the party MPA in the district.”

Naz asked locals to end the demonstration as it is being used as a platform against the incumbent government by leaders of other parties. She promised she would ask the chief minister to look into the issues of the residents on a priority basis.

Karak Youth Organisation President Shabbir Khattak said they would announce their decision about ending the sit-in in a day or two.
