ISLAMABAD:

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Pakistan will initiate a study and publish a National Human Development Report 2015 on the youth that will highlight key policy recommendations for national and sub-national governments with objective of tracking challenges faced by the country’s younger generation.

UNDP disclosed this vision at a ceremony in Islamabad the other day. The report will cover three main drives of youth empowerment comprising education, employment and engagement.

“NHDR report is very close to my heart that would be completed and to launched by November this year,” UNDP Country Director Marc-Andre Franche said at the event, adding that youth engagement is the best way to tackle Pakistan’s problems.

The UNDP report will focus on youth as a critical force for shaping human development in the country, based on fresh data. According to UNDP after the launch of the report there would be a long process of advocacy and dissemination to make sure that the proposal of the report would be understood and debated to create influence on policies related to the youth.
