Poor healthcare: Man dies at AJK rural health centre

The staff’s absence at the health centre prompted the relatives of the deceased to stage a protest

MUZAFFARABAD: A man who was hit by a rolling boulder died at a rural health centre in Chakothi on Friday.  Manzoor Ahmad Sheikh, 25, was rushed to the hospital after he was hit by a rolling boulder while crossing a land sliding area in Drang Chakothi, some 54 kilometres away from Muzaffarabad. According to reports, all staff members at the health centre were absent which caused Sheikh’s death as he was reportedly bleeding profusely. The staff’s absence at the health centre prompted the relatives of the deceased to stage a protest rally on Srinagar Road near Chakothi. The protesters shouted slogans against the staff and the Azad Jammu and Kashmir health department.
