CAS Open Golf: Shabbir bags fourth successive title

The Islamabad-based golfer continued his fine form on the last day of the championship.

Muhammad Shabbir won his fourth consecutive Chief of Air Staff (CAS) Open Golf Championship title at the Airmen Golf Course, PAF Base Korangi Creek on Saturday.


The Islamabad-based golfer continued his fine form on the last day of the championship, finishing with an overall score of eight-under-par 280. Muhammad Afzal followed the victor at 285, while Matloob Ahmed came third with a score of 288.


Vice-Chief of the Air Staff Air Marshal Sohail Gul Khan gave away the prizes at the closing ceremony.


Competitions also took place in amateurs, women’s and veterans categories.


The championship, which was first introduced in 1977, featured 300 golfers, including 113 professionals, from all over the country for the prize money of Rs3.2 million.
