ISLAMABAD: Days after a two-member committee held the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) and Pakistan State Oil (PSO) responsible for the grueling petrol crisis in the country, the petroleum ministry has dissolved the PSO management board and has sent Ogra Chairman Saeed Ahmed Khan on a forced leave of three months.

Rejecting the committee's findings, Ogra argued that maintaining stocks was a duty of the director-general of the Oil and the petroleum Ministry.

On January 21, the prime minister suspended PSO’s deputy managing director finance Sohail Bhatti. Earlier, he had removed Petroleum Secretary Abid Saeed, Additional Petroleum Secretary Naeem Malik, DG Oil CM Azam and PSO’s acting Managing Director Amjad Janjua.

Rahat Baba | 9 years ago | Reply Petroleum Ministry then needs to send all three of them packing home, especially the Deputy Managing Director, since he is responsible for company's over all operational matters. I heard, he's a dual national, owning expensive properties in Canada, Australia and Pakistan FIA / NAB should investigate this individual and if found guilty, send him&associates to the gallows!! I know its too harsh, but the government should set precedence, so future potential "corporate conmen" like them, are well aware of their illegal activities' consequences......
