ISLAMABAD:

Information Minister Senator Pervaiz Rashid said on Monday that PTI chief Imran Khan could not gather courage to raise the issue of alleged electoral fraud during his meeting with the new chief election commissioner (CEC).

Speaking to journalists outside the Parliament House, the information minister said Imran met CEC Justice (retd) Sardar Raza but did not repeat the allegations which he had been levelling at public meetings against democratic institutions in his year-long chaotic campaign.

“This shows that Imran has abandoned the allegations, which he was hurling merely to misguide people,” he added.

The minister said Imran had been consistently leveling the allegations, causing tension and economic loss to the nation by staging a long drama at D-Chowk in Islamabad.

He [Imran] created chaos in 2014 on the basis of these allegations and maligned parliament and other state institutions, he added.
