Show of muscles: Police weightlifting championship from February 6

LAHORE:

The Punjab Police Inter-Range Weightlifting and Power Lifting Championship would be held at Rawalpindi Police Line on February 6 and 7.

According to organising secretary Riasat Ali Sahi, teams from Lahore Range, Gujranwala, Farooqabad Punjab Constabulary, Faisalabad, Sailkot, Chuhng Centre and Rawalpindi Range would participate in the championship.

Sahi said that Headquarters SP Mir Abdullah Niazi and SP Sardar Gul will inaugurate the event. RPO Akhtar Umer Hayat Lalika would distribute prizes among winners, he said. CCPO Humayun Tarrar will distribute prizes, Sahi said. He said Headquarters DSP Tahir Sikander had been tasked with arranging the championship. Athletes from Lahore Range Police Weightlifting and Power Lifting team would leave for Rawalpindi on February 5, the organising secretary said. He said International weightlifter Aqeel Javed Butt would lead the squad.
