Nurses play a vital role in the healthcare system, Post Graduate Medical Institute Principal Prof Anjum Habib Vohra said on Saturday. He was addressing the Dopatta Ceremony at LGH. “Nurses manifest the spirit of sacrifice and service.

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has introduced revolutionary steps to uphold and promote the nursing profession. He is the patron of health sector in the Punjab,” he said. Vohra said that the chief minister should include nursing students in the distribution of laptop scheme. LGH Nursing School Principal Raeesa Ishtiaq, LGH Medical Superintendent Dr Saeed Soban, nursing staff and students attended the event. Vohra congratulated the nursing students and expressed the hope that they would serve patients with dedication and care. He said the government had recently announced plans to upgrade all nursing schools to colleges and regularise staff nurses’ jobs. “These decisions have given the profession greater prestige,” he said.
