Immunisation: Polio drive to kick off in Charsadda

The crippling virus continues to afflict the country.

CHARSADDA: A two-day polio drive will begin in Charsadda in collaboration with the UAE government. According to a press release issued on Saturday by the office of the Charsadda DC, the campaign will kick off next week. Section 144 will be imposed along with a ban on motorcycle riding in the district, the statement read. Moreover, anyone who violates these orders will be taken to task under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code. The crippling virus continues to afflict the country. On Friday, three more cases were confirmed, taking the polio count in 2015 to six.
