KARACHI: A police officer, who was injured in an attack on a polio team in Karachi, succumbed to his injuries late on Friday.

Assistant Sub Inspector Tabbasum Ali of Anti Encroachment Police was shot in the head on January 19, 2015, when unidentified gunmen riding a motorbike opened fire at a polio team in Orangi Town area of Karachi.

He was admitted in the Agha Khan Hospital and was on life support for nearly 10 days.

Earlier in the week, an under-training recruit on guard duty with the vaccination team in Nazimabad area of Karachi was killed when unknown armed motorcyclists shot and killed him.

rajiv mumbai | 9 years ago | Reply I fail to understand why wud one want to kill polio workers / police coz they are simply giving vaccine. What are they opposing?? Foreign medicine?
