No Relief: Death sentence upheld

He was fined Rs200,000 on both counts.

LAHORE: A Lahore High Court (LHC) division bench on Friday dismissed an appeal by a condemned prisoner and upheld his death sentence. On December 22, 2011, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) had awarded death sentence on two counts to Usman, a resident of Faisalabad, for torturing and throwing in fire his two cousins Rabia, 4 and Muhammad Sharif, 3, on March 30, 2011. He was fined Rs200,000 on both counts. He was also sentenced to life imprisonment on two counts. Police had arrested Usman on April 5, 2011.
