Tragic turn: Four killed, one injured in road mishap

The injured were taken to Benazir Shaheed District Headquarters Hospital where the driver succumbed to his injuries.

ABBOTTABAD: Four people including a minor were killed and a woman was injured when a car plunged into a roadside ravine near Nara Gali, around 25 kilometres from Abbottabad on Tuesday morning. According to Bagnotar police, the accident occurred because of slippery roads due to the recent snowfall. Police said the vehicle was en route to Abbottabad from Bagh Bandi with five people on board. When they reached near Nara Gali, the driver lost control and the vehicle fell into a gorge hundreds of feet below, killing three people on the spot while two others were critically injured. The injured were taken to Benazir Shaheed District Headquarters Hospital where the driver succumbed to his injuries. Those killed were identified as Waqas, Safdar Jan Bibi, five-year-old Ahmed and driver Waseem. Ahmed’s mother Shazia Bibi was admitted for treatment and doctors said her condition was critical.
