KARACHI: A Malir court on Tuesday convicted three men for a robbery and sentenced them to four years in jail. Muhammad Mukhtar, Kashif Ali and Nasir, were found guilty of barging into the house of complainant Faizan Rafique’s brother in the Civil Aviation Colony in February, 2013, and stealing gold, mobile phones and cash worth Rs43,000. The robbers were caught by the neighbours as they tried to escape and the family cried for help. The men confessed that they had another accomplice, Muhammad Hasnain, and his whereabouts are currently unknown. Senior civil judge and judicial magistrate II, Sikandar Ali Pahore, sent the convicts to four years in prison and imposed a fine of Rs5,000 each, which if they failed to pay means they will serve an additional three months behind bars.
