Teenager dies in Karachi after being hit by cricket ball

Police did not register any case saying there was no foul play involved

KARACHI: An 18-year-old Zeeshan Mohammed was struck by the cricket ball in chest while playing a match in Orangi Town, Karachi and was declared dead by the doctors when taken to the hospital, reported NDTV.

Zeeshan, while batting, was hit in the chest from a fast bowler and collapsed on the ground.

Police did not register any case saying that there was no foul play involved.

The incident is a part of a series where batsman lost their lives after being hit. Phillip Hughes died during a Sheffield Shield match after being hit by Sean Abbot bouncer.

So sad - I pray that his family is granted patience by Allah to bear this loss. Hope the players learn the lesson that full protection gear is must when playing with proper cricket ball.
