ISLAMABAD:

Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid said on Sunday that a majority of Pakistanis have turned their backs on “the politics of lies and deception”, mocking the four-month sit-in campaign carried out by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

“All the four constituencies have been opened for scrutiny and [PTI chief] Imran Khan faced embarrassment in all the four cases,” he said, referring to the controversy Imran had raised over the 2013 election results.

He questioned the performance of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government against terrorism. “When Imran Khan tours Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa people shout ‘go Imran, go’. Can he say anything about it?” Rashid said.

He asserted that Pakistan was facing internal and external threats and this was not the time to play politics.
