RAWALPINDI:

Federal Education Minister Balighur Rehman has said that Pakistan must invest in its youth by providing them a level playing field to get quality education.

“Youth is our most valuable treasure and they need to get best education,” he said while addressing a graduation ceremony and a job fair organised by the Hashoo Foundation (HF) to award certificates to its graduates at a hotel in Rawalpindi on Thursday.

The minster hailed the HF for its contributions in eliminating unemployment and illiteracy in the country.

The HF carried out the programme with the collaboration of the Punjab Skill Development Fund and the UKAid.

At the job fair, head of around 50 companies interacted with the trainees and interviews were held to offer them jobs according to their skills, knowledge and competencies.

“Seventy per cent of our trainees have got jobs in companies and the rest have started their own enterprises”, said Human Development Resource Centre Senior Programme Manager Javaid Akhter.

This year, 250 young graduates of vocational skills, early childhood development and education successfully completed their trainings, he said.
