The memoir will be incorporated in the university’s Summer Reading Series Symposium of its leadership programme.
“The book has been inspirational to readers around the world, compelling GW’s Women's Leadership Program to incorporate it into its Summer Reading Series Symposium,” the website said.
Further, George Washington’s Global Women’s Institute, in collaboration with the Malala Fund has developed a resource guide for high school, college and university students.
“Building on Malala’s memoir, the resource guide — which was launched at a November event with Malala’s father, Ziauddin — supports global efforts to mobilise people to address women’s and girls’ rights to an education,” it states.
A committee comprising GW faculty with expertise in a wide range of disciplines, including international affairs, media studies, language and literature, religion, history, women’s studies, leadership studies and education, developed the resource guide.
Malala was shot by Taliban gunmen on October 2012, but for years before that she was lobbying for education rights for girls in her hometown of Swat.
The memoir tells the story of Malala’s childhood, her family and activism in a region rife with ethnic strife and political upheaval.

Gilgit Baltistan is the jewel of Pakistan. But sadly most Pakistanis don't know about my region. But foreign climbers and trekkers well aware of GB. 90 % Foreign tourists that come to Pakistan, they only came due to these magnificiant mighty mountains of Gilgit Baltistan. Only 10 % go to Mohenjodro and harappa etc. But sadly Pakistan have not constructed any highway in Gilgit baltistan. Only Karakoram hoghway which was actually built by Chinese in order to make trade via Gwadar sea port to rest of the word. But the tourists mostly don't visit to karakoram highway they have to go to Baltistan region for Mighty mountains which are above 8000 meters K2, Broad Peak, Gasherbrum, masherbrum, Laila Peak , Concordia glaciers , Baltoro ,Biafo, Hushe ,Charkusa valley, Deosai ,Shangrila, Shigar valley, Upper kachura lake and many other lakes and valleys. And the road condition is very poor and dangerous . Jaglote to Skardu and Jaglote to Astore road is not properly mainatined. Its the responsibilty of federal government because GB is controlled by Federal minister for Gilgit Baltistan Barjees Tahir. NS can make metro in 3 month and making 1000 meters long unnessary bridges in Lahore but in GB needed bridges have not built. The tourism sector of Pakistan will only be improved if roads are built and maintanied properly.

Dont you think this is a bit too much. I mean I have read some portions and its all about her home town Balochistan in particular and not Pak in general. There are many factual erros in that book.
