MUMBAI: Actor Bipasha Basu says shooting steamy scenes with actor-model Karan Singh Grover in their upcoming film Alone was not an uncomfortable experience due to the friendship the duo had struck up before the shoot.

Bipasha jokingly calls Karan a “brat and a chatterbox”.

“It’s a good thing because all the ice broke on day one. The question of discomfort is not there as you already have a rapport. Both of us had developed a friendship before we went to Kerala to shoot the intimate scenes and the Katra song,” she said.

The sensual scenes between the two have raised quite a few eyebrows but the trailer and the film’s songs have grabbed eyeballs before the movie’s release January 16.

Directed by Bhushan Patel, Alone will see Bipasha in the role of conjoined twins. The actor also adds shooting for the film was tough for her.

“The shooting was difficult as I had to be joined with my body double; first as Sanjana, and after a change of hair and make-up as Anjana. Shooting for Alone was a unique experience as we had to take care of the distances and other technicalities while shooting the conjoined twins,” she added.

However, Basu is happy with the response that the trailer for Alone has received, and she is hopeful the movie will be lapped up once it releases. “I feel good when my work is appreciated. People like my chemistry with Karan. This film is not just a horror story, it’s a love story,” she said.

Basu, who has recently turned 35, says she’s only keen on doing roles that suit her and that she’s not game to essaying a college girl on the big screen, anymore.

Asked why she’s picking horror films, the bold and beautiful actor said: “If at all anybody offers me a role of a college girl, I won’t do it. It is very frivolous! You have to do roles that suit you.”

She feels that whenever she has essayed “strong roles”, people have liked it.

“People want to see me in strong roles...whether it’s in an artistic film or comedy. They want a lot of strength (in the character). And I only care about my audience, about entertaining the people who love me,” she added.

Alone’s movie’s trailer received a thumbs up from celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Hrithik Roshan and Arjun Kapoor, as well as from her fans on Twitter.
