PESHAWAR:

The K-P Assembly named one of its conference rooms after the slain principal of Army Public School (APS) Tahira Qazi.

Speaker Asad Qaiser inaugurated the newly-renamed conference room at a function at the secretariat on Friday.

The speaker said Tahira Qazi and other teachers showed exemplary courage during the terrorist attack on APS. “Tahira Qazi wrote a new chapter with her sacrifice.”

Qaiser called for national unity on issues faced by the nation. He said the assembly had taken the first step by renaming this conference room and other institutions should also follow suit. Qazi’s husband Colonel (retd) Zafarullah thanked the speaker for renaming the room.

He said his slain wife had dedicated her life to the promotion of education and even sacrificed her life for the safety of her students.
