Protecting schools: Punjab govt to hire security guards

RAWALPINDI: Official sources revealed on Wednesday that the Punjab government has approved posts of 30,000 security guards for schools across the province and will prefer local residents for recruitment. According to the details, the security guards will be hired at Rs15,000 per month for a contract of six months. The government has also released Rs1.7 billion for construction of boundary walls of 500 schools. Moreover, CCTV cameras will also be installed at schools where the student strength is over 500.
