PM directs NACTA to hold executive meeting on Wednesday

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali will chair the meeting

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Saturday directed the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) to hold its executive meeting on Wednesday. Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar will chair its first meeting.  

The premier met with his legal and political team to craft a strategy and road map for the implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP).

During the meeting, Nawaz was presented with the first draft of the constitutional and legal amendments to try enemy combatants and hardcore militants who are involved in financing mass murders. Upon receiving this, the premier directed his legal team to share it with other political parties for their input.

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, Attorney General of Pakistan Salman Aslam Butt and Special Assistants to the PM Khawaja Zaheer and Barrister Zafarullah were present at the meeting.

After the meeting ended, it was decided that 20 sub-working groups will establish working plans and present them to the premier.

Mr. PM! Good show on activating the NACTA. However, now stop thinking about ONLY PUNJAB. Punjab is not Pakistan but a part of Pakistan. Please remember this advice. Let us see how NACTA is activated and what it does under civilian control. To quote you, please remember that you have a strong 5,000 members fighting force. Salams
