Give Me Shelter: New housing scheme to be constructed

The new housing scheme would comprise 8,532 residential plots of different sizes

PESHAWAR: The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government is going to construct a new housing scheme in Jalozai, Nowshehra, the home district of Chief Minister Pervez Khattak. According to an official handout issued on Friday, the Chief Minister’s Adviser on Housing Dr Amjad Ali visited the proposed township and directed authorities to ensure its early completion. He was accompanied by Housing Secretary Engineer Zahid Arif, Housing Director General Salim Khan and Director technical Alam Zaid. The new housing scheme would comprise 8,532 residential plots of different sizes. The total covered area would be 8,905 kanals and the project is to be built at a cost of Rs771.56 million. Dr Ali said the project was in line with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s vision of change. He urged authorities to ensure execution and completion of the project according to the expectations of the chief minister. The PTI-led government is also going to execute another substantial housing scheme called ‘New Peshawar City’ on the outskirts of the provincial capital.
