LAHORE: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Punjab Executive Committee decided on Monday to observe the death anniversary of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto on December 27 to express solidarity with those killed in the Peshawar carnage.

Punjab president Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo chaired the meeting. It was decided that candle vigils, quran khwani and prayer ceremonies would be organised across the province to pay tribute to the Peshawar attack martyrs. Those present at the meeting expressed their determination to rid the nation of terrorism.

Wattoo said the party had a history of rendering great sacrifices for the nation. He said co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari had sanctioned the use of force against terrorists during the tenure of the previous PPP government.
