KARACHI: Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Amir Khan and Haider Abbas Rizvi were inducted into the recently announced new Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Rabita Committee, said a party statement on Sunday.

A joint meeting of the MQM Coordination Committee was simultaneously held in Pakistan and London to finalise names, and overlook party affairs.

The new members were included following party chief Altaf Hussain’s consent.

Earlier on December 12, nine new members of the MQM were added into the committee.

These included Kahfilwara, Advocate Arif Khan, Gulfaraz Khan Khattak, Imbisat Malik, Dr Salim Danish, Dr Ayub Shaikh, Qasim Ali Raza, Mustafa Azizabadi and Izhar Ahmed Khan.

The MQM chief had suspended the Rabita Committee for its failure to “appropriately react to the killing of MQM’s district vice president for Sialkot Bao Muhammad Anwar”.
