To the gallows: Warrant issued for convict on death row

Imanullah was arrested after he killed his wife Nasima

PESHAWAR: As Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif lifts the ban on the death penalty, a district and sessions judge issued a black warrant to execute a convict on death row. The warrant was issued by additional district judge Usman Ali Khan in the case of Imanullah, a resident of DI Khan currently imprisoned in Central Prison Peshawar. The administration of Central Prison Haripur has asked additional session judge Usman Wali in Peshawar to sign the black warrant. He is expected to sign it on Saturday (today). Imanullah is expected to be hanged in the next couple of days. Imanullah was arrested after he killed his wife, Nasima, a lawyer and social worker, in a judicial complex in 2008.
