Some top-notch names blew us away with their well assembled looks. Surely, a night to remember.

The stars were out in full form on Saturday night at the 6th Annual Governors Awards. Held at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Centre, it was a star studded event put on by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Among the glittering audience members were some top-notch names that blew us away with their well assembled looks. Surely, a night to remember.

Jennifer Aniston

Aniston, who stars in this year’s drama Cake, has generally stayed away from peek-a-boo red-carpet dresses, but this strategically tailored dress may signal she’s ready to jump on the trend. She looked graceful in a form-fitting, mid-length, low-cut black gown by Zuhair Murad that featured strategic panels of lace over sheer fabric and a beaded bustier top. The black lace over the nude underlay added a sultry edge to the otherwise classic look. Meanwhile, the embroidered bodice made it red carpet ready. Her hair was swept back in an elegant updo, and she accentuated with black heels and matching clutch.

Reese Witherspoon

We think we just had deja vu, and it has something to do with Legally Blonde. Hollywood sweetheart Reese Witherspoon turned back the clock as she channelled her inner Elle Woods at the Awards night. Showing off her miniscule waist in a classy magenta bodycon dress by Ralph Lauren, the below the knee hemline elongated Reese’s petite frame whilst her barely-there Manolo Blahnik sandals and high neckline added further agility. Keeping her gold mane glossy and precise, and the rest of her make-up simple, Reese added drama to her look by rocking a slightly darker shade of pink on her lip.

Emily Blunt

It was hard to believe that the Into The Woods star welcomed a child into the world in February since she looked super svelte in her figure-hugging ensemble. She wore a stunning hot pink Michael Kors gown with a well fitted, floor-length skirt and a sleeveless green-and-pink beaded bodice. The mermaid-cut gown kissed the floor with a ton of fabric and boasted a delicately beaded floral bodice over a nude framework. Emily, 31, also donned a deep fuchsia lipstick perfectly corresponding to her gown and lots of eyebrow pencil. The star carried a miniature blue clutch bag, sweeping her shiny auburn hair into a ballerina bun to complete her polished look.

Keira Knightley

Knightley wore a simple black halterneck dress, embellished with sequin patterns. We can’t remember a time when we didn’t swoon, drool or lust after one of the star’s red carpet gowns. She somehow always gets it right thanks to her elegant demeanour. The brunette sported a dress from Nina Ricci’s spring/summer 2015 collection. A classic evening dress emitting a steamy vibe — and boy, did she do Ricci’s design justice. It was simple and unfussy but it’s cross strap design and all over black embellishments kept it interesting and formal enough for the occasion. She matched the dress with her signature smoky eye, dark-green shoes and emerald earrings, and wore her hair straight down.
