HARIPUR: A man allegedly stabbed and injured his wife for visiting the market without his consent in Darwesh village, police said on Saturday. Police quoted Munawar Shah, an industrial worker, saying his wife Bano Bibi, 31, a mother of two, used to frequent the market — a habit he did not approve of. Shah said he warned his wife not to do so, but she ignored the threat and went to the market on Friday afternoon without his permission. Infuriated, Shah stabbed Bano Bibi as she was returning home and thrashed her publically before escaping. He was later arrested while Bano Bibi was shifted to Women and Children Hospital where her condition was said to be stable.
