LAHORE: A local commission on Friday issued notices to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan and Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) candidate Sardar Ayaz Sadiq for inspecting the polling record of NA-122 at Nadir Hall, DCO Office on December 15.

The commission comprising retired Additional District and Sessions Judge Ghulam Hussain Awan issued the notices on Friday, requesting the presence of the two candidates from NA-122. The returning officer of the constituency and officials of election commission will also attend the meeting.

Earlier, an election tribunal had issued a short order calling for the opening of voting bags in NA-122 and PP-147. The PTI chief had alleged that NA Speaker Sadiq had rigged elections in the constituency.

Meanwhile, PTI candidate in PP-148 Lahore, Akhtar Rasool, has filed an application in the election tribunal requesting that he become a necessary party in the inspection process of the constituency’s record.

The applicant said the tribunal had summoned Mian Aslam Iqbal following a similar application. However, he claimed that the tribunal had not issued him a notice.

It is only possible with current pressure from PTI jalsa and dharnas. Ayaz Sadiq tried all methods to delay and get say orders. Being in government PLMn should have shown maturity and responsibility by opening constituencies for public scrutiny. Everyday is going against ruling party and Shareef brothers are loosing ground.
