LAHORE: A woman has been arrested in connection with the murder of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) district vice president Bao Muhammad Anwar, Express News reported.

The unidentified woman was arrested from Lahore after her number was retrieved from Anwar's cellular records.

Anwar was was shot dead late on Tuesday in Sialkot by three unidentified men on motorcycles. A post-mortem report revealed that he was shot at least 13 times, sustaining wounds in his neck and stomach.

Following Anwar's death, MQM chief Altaf Hussain, suspended the Rabita committees in Karachi and London due to the nonchalant reaction of the committees' members to the attack.

“The Rabita committee did not react at all to the slaying of an MQM worker in Sialkot. So now, they can go home and continue to sleep,” Altaf had said.

The MQM chief had also questioned Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in regard to why the culprits had not been arrested.

MQM workers had also staged a protest outside the Karachi Press Club yesterday and vented their anger towards the Punjab government.

The "connection" of a woman is just an excuse. Like Gullo Butt" was, to distract public from real culprits behind the ten murdered rioters. Ofcourse, to buy time, to "hatch a New Story", to see if public sentiment are subdued hearing of "a woman". That logic also mean "who ever" the victim talked or met that day are all "connections" to the murder. Police has only said "to her phone". What does that mean? Maybe she probably had not reported it was stolen yet? I just don't like the way its beginning to unfold. Where are the witnesses who saw the few men looking for him and then found and shot the victim? Aren't they a more solid link that could lead to identify the killers? But then its Sialkot, where those killers of young boys, few years ago, are not punished yet. Punjab Police.... God Save us!

May Allah help our nation and give some wisdom to our leaders and our Police. Just because the deceased called the woman from his cell phone, does it give any sort of evidence that the culprit is that woman?
