LAHORE: Imran Khan lacks political acumen which is why he keeps changing dates to shut the country down.

Addressing workers convention at Bilawal House in connection with the Foundation Day ceremonies, Zardari said, “We don’t just have to shout go, go slogans rather we have to build this country up. If we want to build this country it’s not appropriate to talk about the countrywide closure”.

The former president said, “I gave important responsibilities to those who were lying on beds and were out of politics for the last 20 years and now they are doing groupings. I warn them to reconcile with workers before I take action. Those who cannot payback the debt of workers’ blood should go to those who talk about umpire. I don’t need them. Those who think I don’t know workers are mistaken. These workers are with me and would follow me not those who are trying to make groups within the party,” Zardari said.

He emphasised the importance of strengthening democracy and said he couldn’t take any wrong decision because he’s indebted by Shaheed Bhutto to do so. Zardari added that those who couldn’t be sincere with workers are welcome to leave the party.

Senator Jehangir Badar at the convention said if MQM chief Altaf Hussain moves court against Chairman Bilawal Bhutto, PPP would also move courts in London.

A resolution expressing confidence in the leadership of PPP co-chairman and chairman was also unanimously adopted at the convention.

Former premiers Yousaf Raza Gilani, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, former interior minister Rehman Malik, Opposition Leader Syed Khurshid Shah, Amin Faheem, Latif Khosa, CM Sindh Qaim Ali Shah, Sharjeel Memon, Shehla Raza, Sharmila Farooqi and Qamar Zaman Kaira were also present at the convention.

For someone who has managed to make a national political party into a provincial political party ........this does seem odd.
