Fashion Pakistan Week 2014

We’ve picked out our favourite look of the night, and the look that just didn’t make the cut.

Fashion Pakistan Week just wrapped up, which means we’ve seen all the fashion this year’s ceremony had to offer, for better or for worse. We’ve picked out our favourite look of the night, and the look that just didn’t make the cut.

Nadia Hussain

Outfit

It’s one of the biggest social events on the Pakistani A-list calendar, so the pressure is on for the A-listers to shine, but Nadia failed to light up the event by far. The supermodel wore an east meets west sleeveless ensemble that made her resemble a reject from a low-rated version of Dancing On Ice. The A-line shirt with unnecessarily-superfluous fabric did not do much for her figure. From the folded neck pattern to the floor kissing hem-line, the mix didn’t work. The ombre azure-blue colour, not only was tiresome but highly unflattering. The ivory pants just added to the epic failure of the ensemble.

Hair and make-up

Nadia suffered from what we call the messy mane syndrome. As if her outfit wasn’t horrific enough, her crimped up hair made us squeal! The added hair extensions didn’t add any lustre to her locks. A glitzy shine could have possibly salvaged her look but we’re not talking shine on the face. The diva seems to have overdone on the high-lighter and it completely washed out her face, and therefore sadly we couldn’t get a glimpse of her radiant skin. The overly contoured nose, and nude lip didn’t help either.

Accessories

Adding more height to her tall frame, Nadia donned silver embellished sling back heels. Keeping her accessories to a bare minimum, the model decided to sport her silver dainty chain watch and a bracelet. A fine-looking chunky statement emerald ring finished up her look.

Sharmane Sayeed

Outfit

While Nadia killed the red carpet with her outfit, Sharmane was surely dressed to slay. The television star stepped out in a winner A-line shirt with just the right flowy finish. With her slender figure draped in the silk number and back floor-length hem detail, the look made her a fashion frontrunner. Luckily, the busy charcoal pattern with a hint of rusty red and yellow running from the shoulder all the way down to the hem didn’t take away from the smooth porcelain material of the shirt. With just the right fit and perfectly tailored cut of her sleeveless number, she was picturesque from head to toe.

Hair and make-up

Exuding sophistication, Sharmane set her chestnut-brown locks free. Styled in loose waves, the voluminous body of her thick mane did all the talking. Abiding by the the ‘less is more’ mantra, she sported a matte dark-raspberry lip, basic black eye-liner and luminously pink cheeks. Her bold eyebrows added an enigmatic charisma to her face.

Accessories

The star chose to leave all her accessories at home, and grabbed a chic jet clutch on her way out. And did it add glamour to her outfit. The perfect touch to her look was her gleaming peep-toe heels. This girl was surely dressed to impress! Her smile polished up the rest of her look.
