According to FC spokesperson, FC Mewand Rifle had carried out a pre-dawn raid at the alleged hideouts of suspects in Sorz area of Kahan. The suspects opened fire and hurled grenades during the search. Two personnel sustained injuries in the attack and the attacker was killed in retaliation.

The exchange of fire lasted several hours. “Several suspects were arrested. They used hand grenades, automatic weapons and rocket launchers during the exchange of fire,” FC official said, adding that the arrested suspects belonged to a banned organisation which has attacked passenger trains in the past.
