Our Correspondent November 27, 2014

LAHORE: Lahore High Court on ordered the government not to take any illegal action against peaceful political workers. PTI President Ijaz Chaudhry and others had filed petitions saying the government had launched a crackdown on their party workers to stop them from participating in the sit-in November 30 in Islamabad. They said many workers had been taken into custody while many others were being harassed. They said the city governments and the police were harassing PTI workers at the behest of the ruling party. They asked the court to restrain the police from arresting and harassing PTI workers and not to create hurdles in their peaceful protest. Representing the government, an assistant advocate general denied the allegations.  The court disposed of the pleas and restrained the government from taking any illegal action.
