Officials of the wildlife department recovered 70 partridges from a vehicle in Kohat on Wednesday, which were being smuggled from Quetta.
Shabir Khan, a wildlife department official, told The Express Tribune they flagged down a vehicle and searched it thoroughly. During the search, they recovered 70 partridges and took them into custody.
According to Khan, the smugglers were arrested and a case has been registered against them. They have been identified as Ihsanullah, a resident of Darra Adam Khel, and Saadullah, a resident of Quetta. Subsequently, both men confessed they had been smuggling birds from Quetta to Darra Adam Khel. Khan said the birds had been illegally hunted.
