Information technology: PITB’s incubator holds 5th launchpad

LAHORE: Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) officials said that Plan9, the board’s technology incubator, had held its 5th launchpad on Tuesday.  They said the initiative had been taken to motivate young entrepreneurs with creative ideas to establish businesses. Launchpad is a two-day pitching event where the highest scoring teams get selected. Plan9 has provided over 50 teams with a platform to execute their ideas and transform themselves into viable businesses. Officials said 10 start-ups from Lahore have been shortlisted for the upcoming cycle. The judges for the event included Bramerz Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Amer Sarfaraz, Pantera Energy CEO Qaiser Ansari, Grey Density CEO Salahuddin Chaudhry and Vapor VM Country Manager Raheel Asim.
