In a ceremony to mark its aggressive plan to roll out 1,000 ATMs by the end of 2015, NBP President Syed Iqbal Ashraf said the NBP is working towards achieving cutting edge technology.
“Currently, NBP has 376 ATMs countrywide and we will ensure that they are spread to rural areas,” he said. “However, we are behind our competitors and by deploying more ATMs by April 2015 we will strive towards better customer satisfaction.”
The agreement was inked between NBP Senior Executive Vice President and group chief Zubair Ahmed, Touchpoint President Veqarul Islam and NBP President Syed Iqbal Ashraf at a local hotel on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Ashraf, while addressing the plight of the pensioners, said that with new and improved ATMs, NBP management aims to address the complaints of the aged customers. He introduced the P8 server, currently installed on majority NBP branches, that aims at reducing the transaction time at ATMs.
‘We recognise that NBP is a government bank and caters to government offices for income transactions. Therefore, this influx of technology is aimed at making the procedure simpler for our customers,” said Ashraf.
