ABBOTABAD:
A van driver allegedly raped a teenage girl in Nawanshehr area of Abbottabad, police said on Sunday.
Police quoted 13-year-old Tehreem Bibi*, a student of grade eight, saying she was on her way to school with Suzuki driver Fazal of the same village, Bandi Dhundan near Qalandarabad. She said instead of taking her to school, the accused took her to a house in Abbottabad Township where he sexually assaulted Tehreem.
Tehreem said Fazal threatened her with dire consequences if she told anyone about the incident before dropping her back to the village. However, her parents noticed her precarious physical condition and asked her what happened, compelling her to narrate the ordeal.
Tehreem’s father then took her to Nawanshehr police station and lodged a complaint. Subsequently, police arrested the accused, who confessed to the crime.
