Accidents: Three killed, 18 injured in separate road mishaps

Cases registered against drivers of both vehicles.

NOWSHERA/ KOHAT: Three passengers died and 18 others were injured in two separate road accidents in Kohat and Nowshera districts on Sunday.

In Kohat, two people died while another was injured after two passenger vans collided in Usterzai. According to an official of Usterzai police, a van en route from Peshawar to Hangu rammed into another smaller van. As a result, Dilawar Khan, a passenger of the second van, and the van‘s driver, Sharbat Ali, died on the spot. Ziaul Hassan was critically injured in the road accident.



The deceased and injured were shifted to Kohat Divisional Hospital for treatment.

A case has been filed against the driver of the Hangu-bound van who managed to flee.

In a separate incident in Nowshera, a passenger van travelling from Rawalpindi to Peshawar overturned near Kund Park in Nowshera.

An official of Akora Khattak police said the accident took place early morning.

According to initial reports, eight passengers were severely injured while 10 suffered minor injuries. Later, a minor girl succumbed to her injuries on the way to DHQ Hospital, Nowshera.

Out of the 17 people who were injured, six critically wounded passengers were referred to Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar.

A case has been filed against the driver of the passenger van.
