LAHORE:

After his trip to USA, Canada and UK, Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri will arrive at the Allama Iqbal International Airport on Thursday morning (today).

PAT officials told The Express Tribune that Dr Qadri was scheduled to fly from Heathrow Airport at 2:15pm (PST) on Qatar Airways Flight QR004 to Doha. From there he will travel to Lahore on Flight QR622 and will arrive here at 6:55am.

The PAT media adviser said that Dr Qadri had left for a visit to the USA, Canada and the UK on October 28. He had met with several Pakistani expats and leaders. “The tour was a successful one in terms of reorganising the PAT abroad.”

The PAT media adviser said that Dr Qadri will visit Data Darbar. “He will visit the shrine and pay homage before leaving for his residence in Model Town. He will not have any other public engagements that day.”

In a separate statement, the PAT chairman demanded that the chief minister relinquish his position. He said that he had no faith in the joint investigation team constituted to probe the Model Town violence.

In a statement issued by the PAT secretariat, Qadri said that he would not appear before the JIT. Qadri said no member of the Punjab government should be included in the JIT. Only members of the ISI and the MI should be part of it. “Only then will we accept it.”

He said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz-led government was guilty of the tragic incident, which is why they had not made the judicial commission’s report on the incident public. He said the government had obtained a stay order on the matter of releasing the report.

“We have no conflict with Imran Khan... our objectives are the same,” Qadri said. The two parties were fighting a war against the status quo, he said.

In his statement, Qadri said, that his tour to reorganise the party in America and Europe was successful. He said the overseas Pakistanis he had met had assured him that together they will pay off all of Pakistan’s internal and external debts in a year. “The main hurdle to that is the corrupt government currently in place.”

He said every Pakistani living abroad was ready to bring huge investment to the country. “If we want that to happen, we must replace the present system with a just one.”

@Reality Check: Qadri kept fooling the people of Pakistan through his firebrand rants for two consecutive months and then went to Canada to get his Canadian Passport extended which was expiring in December 2014. He has taken good rest and enjoyed himself for a month before coming back to fool his blindfolded followers. Indeed, those who still believe in Qadri have chosen "willful blindness" for themselves.
