Shaikh said the curricula of nine sectors would be revamped under the initiative.  These include electrical and industrial electronics, furniture, agriculture and food, construction, garments and media. The 51 options offered in these sectors include courses of various lengths in metallurgy and welding, foundry and pattern making, auto and farm machinery, leather, petrochemical, printing and graphic arts, industrial electronics, cabinet making, wood working and furniture making, commercial arts and graphics, architectural drafting, and dress making.

The chairperson said the authority’s research and development wing would conduct the study. The study’s findings would be used by the Tevta curriculum department to revamp the courses. He said the curricula were being revised by committees comprised of academics and industry experts. Sheikh said the curricula would be revised by the end of the financial year. He said the authority had also initiated the process of formulating a plan to develop textbooks and manuals for three diploma in associate engineering (DAE) technologies: electrical, civil and electronics.
