Draws for IBSF world championship revealed

Sajjad pooled in Group P, Hamza and Toba to contest in C and R respectively.

KARACHI: Pakistan’s Muhammad Sajjad, one of the losing semi-finalists in the last edition of the IBSF World Championship, has been placed in Group P this time as the mega event, which is set to begin in earnest today in Bangalore, India.

Sajjad will be competing against the Indian duo of IV Rajeev and Brijesh Damani, Sweden’s Farhan Mirza, Philippines’ Felipe Tauro, Sri Lanka’s Mohamed Mubeen Mansoor and Austria’s Dominick Scherubl.

Meanwhile, youngster Hamza Akbar is placed in Group C. Thailand's Kritsanut Lertsattayathorn, Brazil's Vinicius da Silva Fucuta, Scotland's Michael Collumb, India's Varun Madan, Russia's Ivan Kakovsky and Egypt's Hatem Yaseen are the other players in the group.

Lastly, Asif Toba will be locking horns in Group R with South Africa's Fakhrie Gierdien, Ireland's Josh Boileau, Australia's Adrian Ridley, Iran's Soheil Vahedi, India's Sahil Nayyar and Balaj Reddy for a place in the knockout stages.

Pakistan are without senior player and former IBSF World champion Muhammad Asif in this tournament.
